The second page of this layout was published in the “Always Remembered” Idea Book from Pinecone Press. The letter on the page was written by my DH. Thanks for letting me share! Journaling (letter) -It's been several days since we lost our baby Ava Noel and now we are adjusting slowly to the emptiness we have. Expectations and all that we looked forward to was just a fancy. But we both are lucky because everyday we go to bed or wake up, she is staring at us through a framed glass. Before we lay ourselves down to sleep, we kiss her good-night.Meanwhile, as we see the leaves fall off the trees with the changing colors, Andrea and I are taking one day at a time to cope with the challenges life is yet to offer us. We know what it felt like yesterday. Pain, anger, frustrations, and all that seemed unfair - yet we still manage to smile and laugh. Where the old jokes may not be funny anymore, we slip in a glance at one another. Yes, it has been a very difficult time for both of us, but as Christians, we can only silence our anger by surrendering it all to God Almighty in prayers. “Things happen for a reason”, is quite an expression that we can never fully understand, but we accept it as a reasoning behind all this tragedy that is beyond our control. However, with all these uncertainties and fears, we are not going to give up, but continue to try and live the life God has blessed us with already. Someday maybe, we will know what it is like to change a diaper or wake up to the screaming sound of a baby from a crib next door. Ava was born on October 1, 2006 and her life was short lived - 12:45 am until 3:15 am. She was beautiful! She gave us a joy that was beyond anything else in our lives, but then she left us with an emptiness that can never be filled. All we can do is attempt to fill the gap. Till then, we will never know what it would've been like. We know that she is at peace with God and someday we shall meet in Heaven. Ava will always be our Angel!
