My grandsons love to “cook” in my kitchen, and I truly enjoy having them here to do so. They also create great photo opps!Journaling: All of our grandchildren love to play in my kitchen. It seems that of late, that they actually cook more there than I do! A while back, I cleaned out some of my old spices and let Henry use them to “cookâ€? while I was working around doing other things . . . he loved to do that so much, that now each and every time he comes to our house the very first place that he goes in to get his red apron and then the little step stool and pulls it up to the island. I get him a mixing bowl, a little wire wisk, a small spatula and a spoon. A small bowl of flour, a measuring . . . . cup holding a half-cup or so of water will complete the list of ingredients. So today, James and Henry did lots of “mixing stuffâ€?, and then Henry did help me make waffles for them. He even cracked two eggs very successfully. Well, he put the shells into the batter and stirred them in. . I checked for bits of shell and we didn’t find any when we ate them later! The waffles were yummy & the kids happy and my kitchen was a big mess!
