Shadow Box Gift

My mom has moved to the Palm Springs area and I am headed out of town to visit her later this week. I thought she needed something original as a housewarming gift, so I created this "Welocme to our Home" shadow box that she can hang from the front door or set on the entry table.

I hope she likes it - I had a great time finding random products that coordinated so well.

TECHNIQUE:
To get a distressed look on the BasicGrey Jumbo Book Plate, I bought the WHITE ones, painted it with metallic acrylic - a few coats - and then gently sanded it with a nail file. I also outlines all the components from the top layers down to create the "doodling" effect.
