ok glad to see you blurred out the people in the backgorund--they would have been distracting. I like Jen's suggestion--about not cutting off the rope. I like how that first wooden pole is in the shot -- maybe crop it so that the pole is at the edge of the photo like the other side?
I agree with your comments, I wish I had photo shop so I could mess around with the photo some more. I did put a blur filter on, only because I wanted to nullify the people in the corner, they were bugging me. Once I get photo shop (hopefully soon!) I will be able to fix it better. I really wanted to do black and white colorization with this....but again with the lack of photoshop. :P
Did you add a blur filter to this photo? It's got that dreamy feel around the edges. Theo nly thing different I might have liked to see would be either the "life saver" straight on, and also the rope that goes around it not cut off on the bottom. I wonder how it would look in B&W or sepia, or even with selective coloring? You definitely capture many of the things most people overlook.
Love the colors of this photo! I notice that the whole image has kind of a "soft" look to it - I think I like it, but am also a little distracted by not finding a sharp part of the image anywhere. Love your little "ironic" caption and think it would make a great title if you decide to use this phot in a LO ;)! I also love the detail and closeness of the life saver in this photo - do you enjoy taking photojournalism pictures?
