Journaling:

I may have created a monster when I recently introduced Justin to McDonald’s Happy Meals. He LOVES the movie cars (not to mention being obsessed with toy cars). McDonald’s Happy Meal 2006 summer promotion is toy cars from Disney / Pixar”s movie “Cars”.

I of course had to make sure Justin got the first few. After all his favorite characters are the first four toys: Lightning McQueen, Sally, Mater, and Doc Hudson. Now whenever we pass a McDonald’s he comments, “McDonald’s Mommy”, or “Mommy, what is that” or “Let’s go get a car”… “Let’s go get a Happy Meal.”

The problem is I have become obsessed with making sure he gets all the cars. When the toys are distributed at individual McDonald’s depends on demand, so you can get “Toy 1” at one restaurant and “Toy 2” at the McDonald’s down the block. And living in Chicago, believe me their are A LOT of McDonald’s. I have officially become an expert on where they are all located on the Northwest side of Chicago. I have driven through quite a few drive thrus because they haven’t had the right toys – what’s wrong with Me.? I will say, this experience has made me partial to some McDonald’s over the other due to the service.”

Justin plays with the cars constantly so it makes it worth the trip. Plus, he loves the 4 piece chicken McNugget, fries, and milk.

The funny thing is we never go to MCDonald’s, except occasionally to get breakfast. I am a huge fan of the sausage McMuffin with egg, hash brown, and milk. Although, this experience has also made me a fan of their fruit and walnut salad.
