This is a replica of my GL layout for the MMM contest. The picture lifts to show a newspaper article about my dd. She testified before our state legislator to get funding for an abuse prevention program. The tag also opens to show a letter I wrote to her about how afraid I was for her to do this and how proud I was of her courage.

The tag reads: Courageous acts bring inner strength and make the world a better place. If not for courage there could be no hope, no love, no progress.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love and of a sound mind. 2Timothy 1:7

The letter reads:You are stronger than you know. I was so scraed for you to testify before the State Legislature; I was afraid to testify before them as well. I tried to talk you out of going that day, but you insisted. I worried it would be a traumatic experience and cause a set back in your healing. The legislature ran late that day and you were getting really nervous, but you stayed and tesified. You were strong and brave and I was so proud of you. I admire how courageous you are. You gave me the courage I needed to testify after you did. Our testimonies, especially yours, made the difference and House Bill 69 passed. They made money available for an educational program to help fight sexual abuse. The impact of your testimony caused many legislators to change their vote and approve this bill. Because you chose to stand up for what is right, you changed our world in ways we will never know. You amaze me. After the session you skipped and twirled down the halls of our capitol building saying, “Loser, loser, loser.” I was assured that this experience had not been traumatic for you. Your actions had been empowering and this day became a turning point in your healing journey.

The title above her picture is the headline of the article that is contained behind the picture
