Journalling: In June 2000, Cale had a couple of days of fever & Sleepiness that our ER doctors kept assuring me was a natural reaction to the 6-month needle he'd just had. On Friday morning, after 4 days and 2 trips to the ER, I took our son to my doctor and very politely but firmly said, “He's not healthy. I don't know what's wrong, but he's not healthy and I don't think this is natural.” She took one quick look at Cale, who was quite lethargic by this time, admitted that she also didnt' know what was wrong, and immediately made us an appointment at Children's Hospital in Winnipeg. Within an hour, Cale was on IV antibiotics and headed for a spinal tap. We weren't allowed in the sterile room where the spinal tap was taking place, so I stood in the waiting room, wrapped in Trev's arms, weeping as I heard my son screaming in a room down the hall. The result? Meningitis. Has any word evoked more fear in a parents' heart? Here's the miracle part: Our family and friends immediately began praying for Cale and after 3 days and 3 nights, we were home and healthy!!! In the end, the doctors couldn't tell us whether it had been bacterial or viral meningitis. They were amazed at how quickly he responded to the antibiotics and that the bacteria they'd found in his spinal fluid refused to reproduce in the lab. I think…it was prayer. With God, all things (even making meningitis disappear) are possible.PP:CBX, CS:Bazzill, Ribbon: MCC, Stickers: ??TFL
