This month's topic is milestones. I really had to think hard on how I was going to interpret this theme and decided to document my journey of becoming the person I am today. I had a really happy and amazing childhood and at highschool I did well. I had one good friend and didn't really need to fit in but I know now that I wasn't 100% comfortable being me. Something was missing. I have learnt that that something is learnt with time and with being people who love you and lift you up. I have learnt with time that those who love me, love me for who I am and not for what I look like. I have learnt that I have the will power to achieve my goals. One of them was becoming fitter and losing some weight. I always thought it was impossible but being with people who encourage me and support me has given me the will power to tackle my goals.I have learnt that I am beautiful. Every person is beautiful and I really believe that we have to see the beauty in everyone especially in ourselves. These three realisations are what I call my MENTAL MILESTONES. The layout: I started off by choosing colours and patterned papers that fit my personality and the photos I chose to work with. I hate seeing myself on photos but I found these two quite flattering. I also wanted to incorporate journaling onto the layout and I really wanted it to stand out. I took out some chalkboard stickers from American Crafts that came with the Mayberry collection. The white uniball pen really works well on these stickers. As I am a huge cameo fan I also cut out some of the pie chart cut files (available in the digital store) which I cut into pieces and placed over a diagonal of the layout. I them created the centre cluster around my photos and embellished until I was happy.
