I love making layouts about my DH our about our relationship. He is such a wonderful person and I know I can always count on him. I really have a thing for hearts and would use them on any layout but I try not to get too carried away. As this layout has Valentine's theme I thought I'd go all heart mad. I chose some patterned paper and cut out the heart background using a cut file I created with my cameo. I spent quite some time making my own heart shapes and then added them in different sizes on the page. Here is the link to the SVG and PNG files. Heart Cut file [dropbox.com] Then I placed the heart background on some aqua cardstock. I really love the pink/aqua colour scheme and you can find it in a few of the Valentine's collections. Step 3 consisted in placing my photo cluster and embellishing each heart. I used the borders of the American Crafts patterned papers to add detail to each heart. I love that lots of patterned papers have such fun borders. I use them to make banners or add them to my layers. I added the hearts cut outs as well using foam dots to make them pop off the page. I also punched out some heart using some of my punches and placed them on the layout. The last step was the title. I made it nice and long, starting at the top of the page working myself down. I mixed different alphabets, colours and textures making the title a fun design element and adds “flow” to the layout. Below you can find the products I used as well as others that are really fantastic alternatives. Wishing you all a happy Valentine's day.
