For AAM challenge #7, which was to reflect on our age, how we felt about it, is our life different to how we imagined. As I'm doing some photos of my childhood, I thought I would document what I expected my fairy tale life would be like, compared to what it is.

Journalling reads: What will life be like when I am grown up?I expect that I will get married and have kids. I will find my Prince Charming and live happily every after. I will have a house with a picket fence and a sunken lounge room, a big bed and deep couches. I can eat chocolate and lollies whenever I want, and stay up late. I will watch whatever I want on tv, and will make lots of money and be able to buy anything I want. I will drive a car and still be friends with my best friends forever.

What is life like now I am grown up?Prince Charming hasn’t yet found me, although I am not too concerned. I no longer expect I will have children, and am not afraid to say I don’t want them. I have a house, and a side fence made from pickets, so yes, I technically have a picket fence. I have a sunken lounge room (who knew that would come true?), and a four poster bed which I love. I have a big couch I can stretch out on, and do eat chocolate and lollies whenever I want although sometimes the guilt makes me wish I didn’t. Sometimes I stay up very late, not going to bed until the sun is ready to come up, but more often than not I am in bed early. I can watch whatever I want on tv, but there is very little I want to watch. I make enough money to live comfortably, and am trying to find the balance between materialism and happiness. I drive a car, although it took me a long time to learn, but am no longer friends with any of my old friends from school. The friends I have now are friends through choice, not necessity or fear of being an outcast. My life is richer than I imagined it would be.

Papers are CBX, rub on is Fancy Pants, the flower centres are a K&Co copy. TFL
