Some photos from our time in Taipei. Journalling and the bottom right photo are a bit fuzzy from my poor stitching abilities. A total scraplift from a lo in the Scrapbooking Memories Destinations book (Australian publication). <br>Journalling reads: Everything about the Chiang Kai Shek memorial is significant. The giant bronze statue faces west toward his home in mainland China. there are 89 steps on each side of the building, his age when he died in 1975. The blue glazed tiles represent the sky. the walls are made of white marble, sourced locally, and represent peace. The entrace gate pictured is the Gate of Great Centrality and Perfect Uprightness. The Gate of Great Loyalty and the Gate of Great Piety can be found at two other entrances. The building and grounds are beautiful: peaceful, serence, perfect.
