An 8x8 lo for my bom about how I spend my hard earned money. Journalling reads: Grocery shopping: bread, dairy, meat, fruit and vegetables; food for the two cats, toiletries, and detergents. How much does it all cost? Milk is $1.87 for 1.5 litres. Bread is anywhere from $1.98 to $2.70 (and higher). In an average week we spend about $100 for three of us, and take advantage of Lisa’s Safeway employee card while we can. Any spend over $30 gives us a 4 cent a litre discount on our fuel at selected service stations. Receipt enclosed.

A cd usually costs $27 - $31. We download most of our music for free using “peer to peer” file sharing programs such as WinMX and Ares.

My house cost $198,000 at auction in November 1999. A “first home buyer” house now costs around $340,000 in the same area.

Lead Replacement Petrol (required to run cars from 1985 and earlier) was phased out this year. Unleaded petrol costs approximately 102.9 cents per litre at the low point in the pricing cycle, and can rise to as much as 112.9 cents per litre. My car usually costs $35 - $40 a week to fill. When I got my licence in 1998 unleaded was 59.9 cents per litre, and it cost around $20 to fill my car!

My internet is $18 per month for 100 hours and unlimited downloads. We are still on dial up as broadband is around $50 per month. My computer cost about $1100 in early 2004. I had a friend configure it for me as my knowledge is limited.

A movie ticket costs $14.50 at one of the major cinemas (Hoyts or Village). My local cinema (Pinewood) shows new release films for $8.80, and older films for as little as $2.95. At my local video store, a new release video or DVD costs $7 a night, with older films as little as $3 per week.

Doc Martens cost around $240 for black 8-ups (which I wear). They are no longer “cool” so are no longer made in England, and unfortunately the quality is suffering. I wear my docs every day, and a pair lasts me around 4 years. My t-shirts rarely cost more than $10, and I only pay about $50 for a pair of pants. If I buy my hoodies at a show I pay $35-$40. I prefer to get them from my band friends and pay nothing :)

I have my mobile phone on a $20 plan. I rarely use more than $10 of my free calls, including SMS.

Used bazill and pp that is so old I think it's an antique (maybe I should have hung on to it a little bit longer - it might have been worth more!! LOL). MM photo corner, 7 gypsies photo turn, misc key and ribbon.

TFL :)
