journaling reads: Carrie is one of my best friends. We met in January of 1996 through a mutual friend and were amazed that we were both from the same hometown. We started spending time together more and more while at Spelman College. She even helped me to try and get on line for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. {to no avail}.
Over the years we have grown to be very close. Even though she is more reserved and I am a bit of a wild child, she loves me unconditionally still. While she presents herself with a nicely tailored suit and a well-coifed bun, I traipse around without a bra and a baldhead with designs etched into my scalp. She still walks with me proudly.
I have seen her go through so many changes and she still maintains a steadfast relationship with God. I am so honored to be a bridesmaid in her wedding this fall {and Maasai is excited about being her flower girl as well}. She prayed faithfully for someone to come along and give her the love she deserved. I cannot think of someone more worthy of an affectionate relationship. I know that Chris will treat her as she deserves to be treated: like the queen she is.
She is a great friend to have indeed, and I am privileged that she considers me to be the same.
