Journaling reads “I was very excited for my first trade show. I would be running a physician survey at Digestive Disease Week (DDW). I found out a week before the show. There was so much to do! Get a corporate Amex, make air & hotel reservations, fine tune the survey. The hardest thing was finding suits. I did a lot of ‘kamikazee shopping’. Mary Beth Moynihan had great advice on packing work and play clothes for a week long trip. I was up very late packing the night before my 7 AM flight. At 12:30 AM American Airlines called. The flight was cancelled due to weather in Chicago. They did find me a seat on a 7:30 AM flight through Dallas. I called American Livery to change my pick-up time. An extra 15 minutes of sleep! I went ot bed around 1 AM - all packed and ready to go. Just had to shower in the morning. No problem! Well, of course, I overslept! Woke up at 5:05 AM! Frantically hopped in the shower with 10 minutes to get ready. The driver arrived on time. Figures. The car was pulling out into the street when I realized I forgot my make-up bag. Once on the road, the driver started onto Route 1 SOUTH then we missed the turn onto Routh 1 NORTH. Thankfully traffic was light on the Expressway. At logan ahead of schedule. I handed my bags to the Sky Cap hoping to grab a cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee and the Globe. I wasn't listed on the flight! The sky cap brought me right to the ticket counter. Turns out I was on the Saturday not the Friday. The 7:30 AM Dallas flight was full. Things weren't looking good. Finally the ticket agent found me a connection through San Jose AND upgraded me to FIRST CLASS on the San Jose leg. I made it to the gate with time to stop at Dunkies. John Hartnett said I had every travel nightmare in one trip. A good intro to business travel.”
