paper piecing pattern is mostly crop cats, but i modified it. font is sizzix wet paint. journaling reads as follows-This was our first real excursion in Cancun. It consisted taking a boat through mangroves and snorkeling in the Punta Nizuc Reef. The day started out at Aqua Fun, which according to an employee “was the second best marina in all of Cancun.” We were given our boats, and were told to follow the leader. There were some issues with our boat, because we just could not keep up with our leader. Our boat had a hole in it, and it was taking in water. We went through mangroves on the way to the reef. There were all sorts of vegetation and wildlife. There were all kinds of birds, and we were told alligators, but we did not see any of those. When we got to the reef, we were told we would be snorkeling. Since I do not swim, this was not something I had any desire to do. I tried, but when I went into the water, my head went below the water, and I freaked out. Michael went ahead without me. I sat in the boat. Finally, our tour guide, Enrique, talked me into trying again. I was not happy with him at all. I wanted to go back to the boat, but he kept pulling me further away from it. I finally mustered enough courage to put my head in the water, and I saw so many cool fish. I am really glad that I decided to get out of the boat. I am sure Enrique did not feel the same way since he had to baby sit me the whole time I was in the water. Oh well, Michael gave him a good tip, which he totally deserved.
