This is the first Scrap Your Childhood challenge I've done so I combined it with the HMITM this week. Since challenges seem to be the only thing that gets me scrapping these days I'm trying to do a few more! Here's the journalling:I couldn't wait to start school. I can remember very clearly the smell of tempura paint when we first walked into the classroom. I took one look at all the easels set up and the wonderful bright paintings and I was off! I didn't even turn around t say goodbye to my poor mum! My teacher, Miss Ashford, was young and enthusiastic. I can remember being totall enthralled by the section of The Hobbit which she read to us after lunch. Another favorite was the giant sandbox in the classroom around which we would all gather and build villages and roads with wooden blocks. Mid-morning, before recess, we all sat down to drink our bottle of milk, then off we'd go to play, me with my best friends Jane and Julie. Time has blurred many years of school memories, but this first one still stands out in my mind for the fun and novelty of it all.Just a quick note on the awful school photo that year. The poor photographer tried to get me to smile but I had just lost my two front teeth and no way was I showing that big gap in a photo!
