For the school theme, I decided to hold off on scrapping my kid's first day/last day photos and scrap a couple of photos my husband snapped at my 20 year high school reunion we attended last summer. My first thought was that I should scrap the photos in our school colors (black/gold), but then I decided there really weren't any rules about that, so I just used a bunch of fun colors - doesn't it look like a party on that page?!? (I do have some other photos of the reunion, including the decorations, so I may scrap an additional page in school colors, but you never know!)A few notes about the embellishments - though it may appear that the embellishments are completely random, I tried to add items that were related to the theme and added meaning to the page. For instance, the cassette tape die cut has the word “young” on it because our Jr. Prom theme AND our graduation theme was “Forever Young.” I used stickers to add words to many of the journal blocks, tags, and die-cuts. I hand journaled on a handful of the journaling blocks too. I added clips to one photo that represented our school colors. I really had a lot of fun looking through my embellishments to find just the right items for this page and I am very happy with the end result. I love pages that reflect an attitude or an emotion - and I hope I accomplished that with my reunion layout. :)
