I got this desk at a flea market and it was begging me to take it home. I've been working on it on/off for almost a year. Sanding it was a challenge before I got a power sander, but it doesn't even compare to cutting out all those roses and intricate shapes from giftwrap paper. The desk was painted in a gold undercoat than a crackle medium, then a swiss coffee top layer. I also used gold foil for the 1st time. The hardware was spray painted with gold paint. Insides of drawers were lined with scented paper. Top of desk: Angels & Cupids poster, Giftwrap rose paper by Pierre Joseph Redoute, sealed with layers of modge podge.This is the first desk I finished and am really proud of the end result. Just like the needlepoint pillow (in pic next to the desk) it was a half completed project that crossed the finish line.
