Got out the embroidery thread for this one. I took this photo at the Ky Railway Museum the last weekend in May of '03. We were just killing time waiting for the train ride. The journaling reads, This is one of my favorite photographs of your dad even though it doesn’t show his face. Why? It sweetly illustrates the type of father he is – “hands on.” When he first learned he was going to be a dad, your father was anything but excited about the prospect. He was 43 years old. His relationship with is own father had been less than warm and fuzzy and having a child would be a big change. Whatever doubts your father may have had about his ability to be a loving, caring father have long ago been dispelled. He loves being with you. He loves doing things with you. He loves being a family. Never doubt that your father loves you always and forever.
