I consider myself to be a survivor because I had to overcome the loss of my life long partner, had to suffer through depression and finishing raising my youngest daughter alone and then the empty nest syndrome which she left home. All this within a 2-3 year span. I don't know how I managed to keep my sanity. I was fortunate to have a profession that allowed me to support myself and my daughter while she was still at home. There are still times that I find myself digging up from the bottom when the things get touch to manage sometimes. I miss the comfort of having two strong arms to hold and comfort me at these times. I am lucky that my children live nearby so I am able to see or talk to them and my grandchildren frequently. I am lucky to be here, since my daughter and I were in a car accident two weeks ago and it could have been much worse than it was. After all I have been through it has taught me to take time and look at the world around me. I live in a beautiful state filled with the wildlife and nature that I love so much. When things get to rough I go to the mountains to seek refuge and bring life back into perspective. Then I go on and realize I am a survivor!!
