Journaling:Dear sixteen year old high school me, High school doesn’t last forever, but your friendships will. Hold tight to the ones you care about, they will be with you when you need it most. Don’t worry what everyone else thinks about you, just have fun and live your life. Don’t ever lose sight of your dreams. Continue on no matter how long the hours are or little sleep you get. A few all nighters will be worth it in the end. Don’t put off what you can do today! Dear eighteen year old high school graduate me, Your Mom may not always be right, and she may not always tell you what you want to hear, but everything she does is for you. It may not seem like it right at this moment but she has your best interests at heart. In a few weeks when you move out, make sure to call her everyday; even if it’s just to say hi. Tell her that you love her as often as you can. Hug her every chance you get. Learn all that you can from her. Cherish every memory. Dear twenty one year old thinks you’re an adult now me, Hold your family and friends close, just like at sixteen hold tight to the ones you love, but remember it’s ok to cry, you don’t have to be the one that is strong for everyone. Let your guard down and let others be a shoulder for you to cry on. Save money, save time, save yourself. Keep a level head and try to avoid rash decisions. It may seem like the end of the world but life will go on, and you have a special guardian angel to watch over you now. Dear twenty three year bride to be me, Remember 1 Corinthians 13:4, Love is patient, love is kind. Marriage takes work; a military marriage takes a little bit extra. There will be periods of loneliness and sorrow, but love will prevail. He is a good man, a strong man, a heroic man. Never doubt his love and commitment to you. Dear twenty four year old new mommy me, IT’S NOT YOUR FAULT! You did everything that you could. He is a strong baby and he has that special guardian angel watching over him now too. No matter how dark the situation may seem to be, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. You have been given the greatest gift; don’t dwell on what went wrong, look to the future with hope and happiness. Dear future me, You probably haven’t listened to everything that I have told the past me’s. But that’s ok. Just remember to live life with as little regrets as possible. You can’t change the past but you control the future.
