Sandy your words are so beautiful and inspiring, it makes me reflect on how lucky I am in my own life (I think I'm going to stop complaining when my husband comes home late from work!! hehe) I for one just LOVE the colours you used on this page and the stitching is fantastic, worth the extra effort! (BTW sometimes when I have trouble with my stitching and it skips, I just draw in the extra stiches with a fine point marker, you really can't tell it was fixed up!)
WOW!!!! Sandy this is gorgeous and lovely and yet has a masculine feel! this is perfection. i love the design and of course as always your stitching and journling are both superb!!! and where your machine was skipping, it looks super cool.
WOW, WOW and WOW!!! I took one look at this and put it straight into favs!! It's funny how your machine skipped stitches, cause I was trying to figure out how I could get that look! Sometimes what you think is unfortunate looks really creative!!
Sandy this is beautiful !!!!! I love the colors !!!!!!!!!! The papers look perfect!!!!!!!! I always love the stitching!!!! I love how the whole thing is arranged!!!
The rule of thumb is used the colors you love. Those are beautiful color combinations. I'm crazy about stripes and circles. You did a wonderful job with stitching. You can see through the hard work that you put in this LO that you true love the person you made it for-your hubby. Great Job!
Another gorgeous LO! I love everything about it, especially the journaling. It brought tears to my eyes, it hits so close to home. Have a great weekend!

Eeeekk...I keep migrating towards the lime/celery greens and yellows!!! :) This is my last layout (I swear) using those colors, at least for a while..hehe.
I loved the look of stitched hearts that I saw in a magazine--so I gave it a try--real pain in the bottom! On top of the difficulty in stitching around the hearts, my sewing machine started to act up --skipping stitches and all. Then I broke the needle--ouch!
This is one of my favorite pictures of my hubby--I've tried scrapping this before --it was extremely hard.
I made a pocket for the journaling tag and also so I can slip in more pictures from that day.
The journaling reads:
This seems like a lifetime ago but is still as fresh in my mind as it was that day. I will never forget it. Just days before this, you had arrived home from Iraq for your two weeks R&R. As cold as it was outside we dared to go to the very top of Mt. Scott, take in the beauty of the wildlife refuge, and see all the historic sites of the Holy City. We sought shelter from the bitter cold winds inside the old chapel there. Just you and I, spending time together, making every minute count, is what I treasure from this time. I had missed you so much when you were gone. After all, it was your first deployment and the longest we’d ever been separated since we’d been together. We knew it would only be a short time before you had to go back so we made the most out of that time. I look at this picture of you (one of my favorites) and it reminds me not only of the special moments we shared during those 2 weeks but also reminds me to make every minute count “NOW”…because tomorrow is not promised.
