Better late than never. Here is my LO for Flashback Friday to scrap a childhood fear. I have no photos of myself as a child so this will have to do.<p> text reads:There are “good” fires and there are “bad” fires. The first capture you in there flickering dance, mesmerizing you. The latter reek havoc on your life. As a kid, I was both fascinated with fire and terrified of it. My favorite aunt’s nylon dress caught fire sitting next to the fireplace after we had left one Christmas eve, and though she survived she was badly burned. Our house had a chimney fire and because of our location in the country three fire departments listed us as on the boundary of territory coverage refusing to come. At last all three stations responded but the little girl of 9 remembers too clearly the fear of sitting in the fire chief’s car on a cold dark night waiting for the fire to be put out. Even today, I have developed a healthy respect for my childhood fear.
