My daughter is absolutely obsessed with Chuck's tennis shoes, so I made this page to honor that obsession. Bazzill cardstock, patterned paper ?, 7 gypsies buttons, pp behind buttons Scrapworks, chipboard word ?, Mary Engelbreit letter stickers. The journaling reads, “The old adage must be true, ‘everything old is new again.’ Kelsey, you are obsessed with Chuck's tennis shoes – the ones that were popular in the 50's and 60's. I couldn't believe it when you told me these were ‘the’ shoes to have in your crowd at your school. Grace gave you this pair, probably because she was afraid I'd never buy any for you myself. These shoes are part of the whole retro craze I guess and definitely fit in with the skateboard look and crowd that you seem to find cool at the moment. At least the tennis shoes are clean and distinctive; beyond that, I'm afraid I just don't get the allure. Enjoy your Chuck's because ‘it’s all about the shoes' at your age and for many years to come. I'll try to understand and support your habit, even if I'd never wear them myself. I'm glad you have your own style; just don't ask for anything too weird.” I chose to highlight several phrases in bold type to make them stand out.
