I laugh whenever I see this picture - You can read all about it in my journaling :) Thanks for looking. All paper is Chloe's Closet (oh how I love this stuff!)Journaling: This is it – the official family picture for our 2004 Christmas cards. I have to laugh because when I sent this picture out with the cards, I got so many compliments on it. Many people wrote to tell me how much they loved this picture and every time I read that I snickered to myself. You see, this picture is what you could “doctored.” In November, Chris and I took the kids to Disneyworld for the first time. While we were there, we met an online friend, Jennifer Newton, and she agreed to take some pictures of our family. After snapping a few shots of us individually, we huddled together to get a group shot. I desperately wanted a family picture for our Christmas cards and I didn’t want a cheesy department store photo of the four of us. Jennifer managed to snap eight pictures before Preston officially lost it and refused to sit still anymore. When I got home, I studied every one of the wonderful pictures that she took. I was thrilled with the results, but when I got to the family photos, there was not one good one. Chris and I were smiling in every picture, but if one kid was smiling in a picture than the other one was not. I was so disappointed because I knew this meant I had to rethink the family photo I hoped to send out. Then, I got a brilliant idea. I decided to take the best picture of three of us and use that as my base photo. I then found the best picture of Sterling and I used Adobe Photoshop Elements to cut out Sterling’s smiling head and paste it onto the base photo. Of course, it was a little tricky because in the base photo Sterling’s head was tilted, but somehow I made it work. If you look closely, you can tell that this photo was “doctored” because the angle of Sterling’s head is a bit odd and my chin looks a little too perfect. I think this pictures sums up the year 2004 perfectly – overall good with a few flaws that can only be seen when you look closely at the year overall.
