I'm kinda struggling with this “layout” primarily because it's hybrid, which is to say that the substrate is actual paint over yuzen washi, inspired by a challenge a couple of weeks ago for IdeaBooks4U where you pick random pieces of paper for your layout. The writing was appropriate at the time, but it's interfering with the placement of photos. =) The picture in the upper right-hand corner is Eddie with the 2 children of friends, plus Allen–I think he enjoyed having that lapful!Materials: White acrylic paint; Lumiere paint in Sunset Gold, Rose-Gold, and Purple-Gold; yuzen washi; ballpoint pen. Frame by Katie Pertiet (Dirty Frames No. 3, Designer Digitals). Sakura brush mine, for the sprinkles over the painting and the background paper. There were no photos harmed in the making of this piece–they're all digital! Journaling reads: “Some days are full of the colors of rich dreams and laughter; the kind of richness that never runs out, yet somehow gradually fades and is rediscovered by surprise as you round the corner and find a camellia floating in a mud puddle.”
