My first published layout – yahoo! Fonts are 2 Peas Gift (title), Garamond (journalling) and Alpha Bravo (dings of man holding baby – the font is based on code – where A is alpha, B is bravo, etc. P in this case is papa, which I used). TFL.Carmen.Edited to add: Hmm, I see that it's rather difficult to read the journalling. For anyone who's curious, here it is:Little Ivy, if you were looking for good fortune in life, your timing was impeccable. Your mom and dad, Audra and Phil, decided before you were born that you would have to have a 3-letter name. You are their 3rd child, and the doctor predicted you would arrive on the 3rd day of the 3rd month of the 3rd year. Showing an early streak of your mom’s independent spirit, however, you chose to arrive 10 days late – but just take a look at those numbers: 03-13-03. You will soon start reading fairy tales, and you will see that it is often the 3rd child who, though small and ill-regarded, is described as the bravest and noblest of all, and often comes out the winner, whether the prize is gold or the hand of a beautiful maiden. On a hot summery day, perhaps, you will discover that there are 3 flavours in a scoop of Neapolitan ice cream – savour them all, Ivy.One day, you will follow your brothers onto a big yellow school bus, and then you will learn to read, and to add and subtract, and to put words of your own onto a piece of paper (not on the walls or on the furniture, okay?) – and you will discover that those tasks are called the 3 R’s. You will learn that we live on a beautiful blue planet, 3rd one over from the sun, and that we experience the world in the 3 dimensions of height and width and depth. And perhaps you will come to believe that one God created the universe, and yet He too is a mystery of 3. You are still so very young, Ivy, so you may not know it, but your luck is already showing. You’ve got two big brothers, Clark and Paul, who will be fun playmates as you grow older, and two parents who are committed to growing in love for one another and to nurturing all 3 of you to become confident, tender-hearted and thoughtful adults. Plus, as a bonus, you’ve got one of the most fun, smart and creative thinkers I know to be your mom – and she loves you so much already. I know that for sure, because here’s what she told me about the day you were born: “I heard a terrific, high-pitched Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! and I thought ‘that is so totally a girl’ and I flipped over to have a look. I put her up on my chest and I looked into her beautiful face. She wouldn’t open her eyes at first – it was so sunny and bright. I put her to the breast right away and she latched on like a pro. Her nails were like talons – super long!“Ivy is totally gorgeous and looks nothing like me (just like my other children). So far her hair is reddish brown and her eyes are dark blue. Who knows how she will look in a few months, but I’m sure she’ll be just as (or even more) beautiful.” Have fun growing up, Ivy!
