At the beach no photo layout

Can you believe we went to the beach and I didn't take any pics?? I can't believe it either! All paper and letter stickers are Karen Foster. Wooden letters are Lil Davis. Beach tags in the upper left. Journaling: Can you believe it? No pictures!! A day at the beach and no pictures! What kind of a scrapbooker am I?Turns out, sometimes it is fun to not have the camera pointed at everyone. Even though I love my role as family photographer, sometimes I just don't want to. I just want to sit on the beach without worrying about getting sand in my camera or catching my kids at the perfect angle while still managing to get the exposure right. I just want to be in the moment, rather than recording it.So, on this day, I read a book and enjoyed the sun. I took a walk along the edge of the water (so cold!) and watched Madelyn charge right in. I watched Meredith dance around the edge, skittering in and out of the water. She collected every shell she saw, discriminating not at all between “keepers” and those that would best be tossed back. Meredith built me a sandcastle. She said it was my house. And then she built herself a castle right down the street so that we could visit all the time and I could play with her babies. Madelyn played in the water while her dad stood beside her, shivering (did I mention that the water was COLD?) And Madelyn got an astonishing amount of sand everywhere on her person. And no pictures exist of any of it.And that's ok.(We're going back in a couple of weeks - I'll get some pictures then)Beach Visit: June 13, 2004Tracy
