This was a LO about the first time I felt my DD move. Journalling reads:Bubbles. Gas. Butterflies. Fluttering. This is what people said it would feel like when I first felt the baby move. I patiently waited for that first kick. A flutter. A somersault. Something. Anything! People kept asking me, “can you feel the baby move yet? You should be feeling it by now!” I was beginning to wonder if something was wrong… But then, one day Late September, after lunch, I was sitting at my desk, and I felt it. I stopped typing, held my breath and waited again. I had to make sure. Was it just my lunch digesting? But there it was again! Faint, but definitely there. The baby moved! It definitely didn’t feel like a butterfly! I was shocked at how it felt. I guess the closest thing I could associate it to is gas, but even that wasn’t right. As the days went by, the movements grew stronger and more frequent. These movements were funny feeling; the sensations were strange. They were like nothing I’d ever felt before. I began to have these images of an alien inside me!It’s wild to feel you rolling around in there. Every day, you move around more; you usually get a burst of energy after I eat. And I know it’s you - not gas, not hunger pains, not a stomachache. Now, I can watch you tumble around, my stomach physically twitches and jumps. Daddy can see it too, and he wants to feel you so bad. Just one kick! It must be too soon, though. if we put our hands on you, you calm down!October 2002
