Journaling reads: “The doctor came to my room 12 hours after you were born. he said that you were very sick and had to be flown to Duke Medical Center in Durham. He said that you wouldn't make it if you stayed at Womack. You were not able to breathe on your own and needed more advanced care and equipment. I hadn't gotten to see you or hold you so the nurse took me to you in a wheel chair. I was still very weak from the surgery, the loss of blood and the edema. I called Daddy and he met me in the NICU. I cried when I saw you motionless with tubes and wires coming out every which way. I wasn't allowed to even touch you because your blood pressure and heart rate were too high. I wanted you to know I was there but they had you heavily sedated. How could this be? It felt like there was a rock in my throat. Everything in me wanted to cry out. I felt so helpless. But I knew that the Lord had His angels watching over you and that He would get us through this. I whispered to you that I loved you and that I was always here for you. I told you that your name means ”Fire“ and that you had fire in your spirit to fight this. I told you that you were very strong and would make it and that there were people all over the world praying for you. I told you to rest and let God fight this battle for you. Then I collapsed back into the wheelchair as they prepared you for your flight to Duke without me.”EDITED TO ADD: to see how wonderful he is now, you can see the oodles of layouts of Aidan in my gallery. The prayers of people in the digi world helped bring him through. We thank you. :-)Font is Pea Girly Girl PrintCREDITS: All by Lie Fhung at Ztampf and Scrapbook BytesBackground, overlay - Evening FallsNotebook, blue ribbon - Great ExpectationsPhoto Frame - Cloud 9Wings - SoaringWords - Soul SearchingBow, tag, photo turn - Sage Blues
