Of all the layouts that I have done recently, this is one of my favorites.

Please excuse the discoloration on page 2. I have scanned and stitched it several times, but have not been able to make the discoloration disappear, as it is not on the original.

Thank you Kathy Montgomery for helping me with my overlap words.

Journaling:

It’s beauty is in it’s simplicity… and in its setting that entreats you to spend a few moments in quiet reflection. Set amid the tranquil woodlands around Falls Creek Lake, the Ida Cason Callaway Memorial Chapel remains an inspiring tribute to co-founder Cason Callaway's mother. This chapel, reminiscent of 16th-century Gothic chapels, has a design that includes fieldstone quartz and other natural materials, plus six stained glass windows depicting the Southern forest in a progression of seasons. A custom-built Moller pipe organ sits in the front corner and its music can be enjoyed inside and outside the chapel. Regularly scheduled organ concerts are a favorite event for many guests.

For 10 years prior to his death, Cason Callaway planned the Chapel. He spent many days walking his land looking for the perfect spot to build the Chapel. Just a week before his death, he finalized the plans for it. Although he never saw it completed, he already had seen it in his mind's eye.

The Chapel was dedicated in April 1962 by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale. The chapel has been the site of numerous concerts, memorial services, baptisms and weddings.

The Chapel was rededicated in 1990 after undergoing renovations made possible by a donation by Fuller E. Callaway Jr., Cason's younger brother. Since its opening, many brides have chosen the Chapel as the site for their weddings. It is a beautiful place for small ceremonies.

Thanks for looking!

Alicia
