Here's my entry for week #3. I'm #35.

The journaling reads:

What a beautiful family. What a beautiful story. What an inspiration. God is good.

Our Youth Pastor and his wife, Tom and Amanda, have been married for 8 years. When they found out that they could not have children of their own, they decided to adopt. For five years they have prayed and waited.
Never did they imagine that they would become parents to two babies in one week’s time. First arrived Clayton (four months old) on January 27th. A week later, Kathryn (8 months old) became a member of the family.
Last year Tom and Amanda were overjoyed to find out that a birth mother had chosen them to raise her baby. They were in the delivery room when Clayton was born and even named him.
Unfortunately the biological father decided to challenge the adoption and Clayton was put into a foster home.
Tom said, “It was like losing a child.”
I cannot begin to imagine their sorrow, their pain, and their grief. Amanda said she couldn’t understand why God would give them a baby then allow him to be taken away. “I didn’t understand, but I said, ‘Lord I trust you.’”
After this happened they contacted other adoption agencies and were put on waiting lists. They continued to pray. Soon they were contacted by the agency that they had first been working with. Clayton could still be adopted if they were interested. Of course they were!
Within hours another agency called and told them that Kathryn, born in Guatemala and adopted by an American couple, was available for re-adoption. They were faced with a decision.
Amanda had always prayed for twins and wanted to adopt them both. Unfortunately they only had the money to pay for one placement.
They decided to take a step of faith and adopt Kathryn also. The agency agreed to work with them on paying the fee.
Since then, with the support of family, friends and our church, the adoption is paid for. - Praise God!
Tom and Amanda are very busy but very happy. Amanda says that her house is a mess all the time but she’s having so much fun. She also says, “You have to be patient. And when you trust and believe in God, he will bless you.”

Through Tom and Amanda I have been reminded of how important my children and husband are. Are my priorities where they need to be? Do I take my family for granted? I need to learn that sometimes the laundry can wait, the dishes can wait, my scrapbooking can wait. God has blessed me with 4 beautiful sons and a wonderful husband. I want to enjoy them.
I am also reminded how faithful our God is. Even when I don’t understand the trials in my life he is trustworthy. God hears my prayers and knows the desires of my heart. He has not left me to fend for myself. He is right here with me. He Is Good.
