I took this (and many other photo's) on a special "Nanny and Chloe" day out This was the one that really brought back the memories of that day..
The journalling reads:
In June, while I was on long service leave, you came to stay for a couple of days. We played counting games, we played "one fish, two fish, red fish, go fish", we baked cakes and biscuits and went for walks, but the most special thing we did was to go to the Castlemaine Botanic Gardens for the day. This was a girls only day.....just Chloe and nanny. I was coming down with a nasty bout of the flu that morning, but we decided we would still go. We bought lunch and ate it in the gardens and then we went exploring. Chloe you always surprise me with your wonderful imagination. We looked for and found "The Magic Faraway Tree" (you knew it was the "Magic Faraway Tree" because it had doorways in the trunk and at the base of the tree and it was so tall it nearly reached the sky), we got stalked by monsters, we got chased by giant tigers, we pretended to be horses, we went bush walking, we hid from humans (because we were now the tigers) and we played on the swings.
You amazed me by drawing the biggest paw prints in the dirt and then screaming "run nanny, look, the giant tigers are here". You met and played with some children in the park who were quite a bit older than you, and they didn't seem to realise you were so young, because you sometimes act so very grown up. I had just the best day and it was you that made the day very special. I wouldn't have missed it for the world. You make me so proud.
