Awesome lo! I love that you documented this! Also, that is the best use of fiber I have ever seen! It is so hard for me to work with the stuff! Great job!
This is an awesome layout. Your husbands thoughts and feelings in dealing with a difficult time show true heroism. Thank you for your sacrifices and him for his service.
Isn't it amazing how a layout like this - brings you closer to the similarities in cultures and countries instead of focusing on the differences all the time - excellent layout idea and structure!
Well, you certainly don't need any more comments on this layout, but I just wanted to say that it's breathtaking! Thank you for sharing this. It has really taken a hold of my heart.
OMG, this is absolutly incredible! Those pics are totally amazing and I love how you did the title and what pp you chose! This is just an awesome page!
This is a stop-you-in-your-tracks page. Really. This is absolutely amazing. The shots, the journalling, the colours, the blueprint - all fantastic. LOVE this lo. Publish it.
Wow!!! I really love this! It's not only gorgeous but very touching! The papers you used are perfect and your dh's journaling---wow, fantastic! Thanks for sharing this!
The eyes of those childern are so captivating...I can see how you connected to them...I've connected to them just through the computer screen. I love the background paper, and the pasilys...and the title...and geez, the whole thing. What a wonderful job! TFS!
Oh...wow! I'm sitting here looking at those beautiful children. Yes, we need to see the 'faces'...then we can connect. You have done a wonderful layout, and it's absolutely beautiful! Perfect title, love the monogram letters and the way you did 'Afghanistan.' Outstanding!
Holy Cow, woman!!! This is just incredible, from the pics and journaling to the fantastic design! I especially love the photo at the end of the title, great placement! Submit this to BG gallery pronto!!
Wowza! This page looks great. The colors are so perfect for the feel of this LO. I'm amazed. The handwritten journaling looks great as well! This is a gorgeous LO!
What a beautiful page!! I love the placement of each of the smaller pictures. And making the journaling handwriten has made this lo even more personal. Very heartfelt too! Very nice work.
This is wonderful! He got amazing pictures and it's wonderful that he wrote the journaling (which is amazing btw). The BG papers go perfectly with this!
This is stunning - the BG is a perfect paper for the pictures and the fibers give just the right amount of roughness & softness to this page. How wonderful you added your dh's journaling!
I'm speechless. Everything about this lo is amazing. I love the BG and the way you cut out some of the designs. Your journaling is fantastic and heartfelt and the photos are phenominal.
Pictures taken during my DH's tour in Afghanistan 11/02-4/03. I've never been to the mid-east, but I connect with his photos from there.
Journaling (by DH) reads:
Regardless of where I travel in the world, there is always a common thread pulling my memories together. I have felt the immeasurable pain of loss & the satisfying pleasure of success. Whether the experience brought me wholehearted hospitality or absolute hate, I see the same thing in my mind's eye. My memories are not recalled through the locations or situations; No, I see the FACES of those places.
