Am I crazy to try this with a class of 1st graders? My 1st grader can totally do this..but we also call her “Maddy Stewart” because she is so crafty… This whole thing started because Maddy's teacher had been saving some marinade jars forever and asked me if I wanted them….When I found out that she had enough for the whole class, I suggested that we make a Mom's day present with them….I saw the foam balls at the Dollar store and then one thing led to another…and this is what I came up with.BTW, I am ordering bulk Maya Road buttons for this and a ton of pins…..It shouldn't be too expensive.Anyway,the styrofoam ball half will be glued to the lid BEFORE they put the pins in so they don't poke through the bottom and poke thier fingers. We are going to do it in a 2 day process to allow the dyed coffee filter to dry. Think they can do it? Think I can do it?
