As seen in Simple Scrapbook January 2005………………………….Journaling: Paris…the destination of many dream and many a dreamer. It is a place that fascinates people. It is the world capital of romance and the subject of countless novels and books. The city by which all other great cities are judged. There are more famous landmarks here than any other city on earth; its museums contain some of the most priceless works of art. It has a reputation for arrogance and aloofness yet remains one of the most visited cities in the world. Paris is a metropolis that thrives on contradiction and paradox that nevertheless remains strong headed and guards its identity fiercely. I had heard that Paris is the one city everyone really should see before they die. Here I was, in Paris. I tell myself that I should be lighter than air but all I feel is heaviness. I should be seeing whirling colours of a vibrant city but all I see is grey. I should be smelling the fresh bread, the red wine, and the flowers, but all I smell is sewers. I should be hearing the excitement of a bustling metropolis but all I hear is blaring horns and angry voices. The sun was shining but to me it did not matter, it felt like rain. I dragged my feet along the boulevards and museum halls. I looked at some of the world most famous works of art with a bored air. I refused to wait in line at the Eiffel Tower. I was exhausted, nauseous and bloated. I cursed my bad timing. I was at the tail end of my first trimester. I do not believe in regrets but this is one that I have. I hope that I will be given another chance. Another chance for a day in Paris, rain or shine.………………………………………..Supplies Patterned Paper (Paper House)Photo Corners(Paper House)Slide Mount(Paper House)TransparencyFonts (P22 Victorian)(P22 Monet)Vellum (Scrapbook Sally)Ink (Stazon)
