Here's the medal I sent to Beady(Kathy).It's hard to see from my picture but the base of my medal is a mini canvas. I painted that with purple craft paint and added some texture with some embossing paste and gelatos. I made several elements to add to my piece and its kinda hard to describe in order so here it goes. I adhered a piece of torn PP(DCWV stack far east stack)with some Scotch quick dry adhesive. Along the edge of the PP I smeared a bit of gelatos to the side and added a swirly/floral stamp. The two fans in the upper left corner are some die cuts from that same PP line that I'd been hoarding. The light pink one I trimmed down some using some deco scissors, smudged a blue gelato over some aread and added some stamping to it with rusty hinge distress ink. I then ran that through my paper crimper for texture. Adhered that to the base. Behind that is a piece of grunge paper that I painted with purple paint,dry embossed and colored the raised areas with a gold gelato. Using deco scissors, I trimmed around the edges. I stamped my pagoda stamp with some black archival ink and colored that with distress ink in mustard seed and rusty hinge. And finally, I added my stamped butterflies to the project, I'm not sure how well it will show up on here but they're raised a bit off the project for dimension. It's terrible but I can't remember if they are all heat embossed on gloss paper or if some are on cardstock! They're all colored with promarkers and the dark blue butterfly has some stickles on it because it was the only one that wasnt embossed. The stamp mfr. for those I'm not sure. I got them in a yard sale box and there wasnt a name on them. I think maybe inkadinkado if I had to guess. Forgot to add that I attached magnets and a pin that way Kathy could wear it or put on the fridge if she wanted to. I really like asian theme art and thought I had rememberd Kathy saying somewhere on one of the threads that she did too so I tried to do a little asian theme to my project. Butterflies were my “air force” inspiration, the fans are also good to help move air around. And helpful in this heatwave! TFL :)
