This technique was really fun! I started with my stencil(folkart pebble backbground) I added a bit of painters tape just to hold the edge of my watercolor paper down while I applied the paste. I used Liquitex modeling paste onto my stencil. I applied that with a small artists spatula. It was super humid here that day so I let it dry for a few hours. Once it was completely dry I added my snowflake stencil(brank unknown, I've had it for several years. Applied the paste to the stencil and let dry. Once it was dry there were some sharp points on the snowflakes, I took a nail file and lightly sanded those points down a bit. Next I applied paint onto my piece. I used Folk Art paint in metallic Blue topaz and metallic blue sapphire. I added a tiny bit of water to the paint just so it would mix well. Painted my surface and let dry. Once the paint was completely dry I added a tiny bit of silver rub n buff to the snowflakes so they would stand out just a bit. I felt that the size was a bit large for a card so I cut it in half and made 2 cards with it. I didn't want the white to show on the side where it was cut so I colored them with a blue gelato. I adhered my pieces onto a black card base. I stamped snowflakes onto the card base in Brilliance ink in starlite silver and pearlescent blue. The snowflake images are from Inkadinkado clear sets, and the small ones are from Lawn Fawn, Making frosty friends. My sentiment(inkadinkado) I stamped onto some light blue cardstock with Versafine ink in black onyx.I added a bit of the blue gelato to the edges of it as well. TFL :)
