This challenge is to use one background stamp in at least 2 different ways for 2 different projects. I decided to use my newest Hero Arts Leaf and Floral background stamp and use different medium to achieve different looks.Photo 1-Tim Holtz Distress Ink (mowed lawn) provides a strong background image.I created a gate folded card (fold down center). The focal image is by Lockhart Stamp Company. The image reminds me of metal outdoor chairs my family had when I was growing up. This is a thank you card is for my sisters hospitality during my recent vacation. I used distress markers to watercolor the image and a punch for the mat. I cut off the sides of the background to create solid side borders to contain the movement of the background. The mat edges are colored with TH?s new mini round blending tools. They provide a softer tone of ink. I find the round blending tools much easier to use.Photo 2-Tim Holtz Picket Fence Distress Stain provides a soft chalk-like look for the background image. The focal image is a faux watercolor using chipped sapphire distress ink and a stamp from Hero Arts Cherish Yesterday cling set. The stamp design has a distress look and so I finished the edge with distressing and a touch of sparkle. Photo 3-Tim Holtz Distress Acrylic Paint, picket fenceInitially, I thought I would use this background for my card but once it dried I felt it was too strong and overpowered the focal image. I included this pic cause I wanted to share the difference of this acrylic paint.
