I love texture and always enjoy creating it on my cards. While it was my intention to follow Anna-Karin dry embossing wax resist tutorial I ended up using it for my inspiration.I began this card by creating the focal base by trying a gesso pull-apart technique which I had wanted to do for some time. I used two A2 sized pieces of substantial watercolor paper. I put a couple tablespoons of gesso on the first and added the 2nd paper on top. I flattened them together with my hands for a few seconds then quickly pulled them apart and set them aside to thoroughly dry. The result is lots of interesting surface texture (see photo #2). I painted the background with Golden's fluid acrylic paint which I water down so it would easily flow over the surface. After it was dry it was ready for the next texture.I used the Tim Holtz texture fades fancy folder to dry emboss this piece. I cut out the embossed piece. Tip-the color and design being so loose and random made it difficult to see where to cut on the front. I turned the embossing paper over and could clearly see an embossed edge to use as my cutting line. To unify the piece I finger swiped Inka Gold over the entire piece and buffed.I inked the branch stamp by stampendous with archival ink and embossed in black. The butterfly was punched from a piece of polished stone scrap paper and stamped with Memory Box script stamp (UUS challenge). The card base is covered with crinkled black art tissue and adhered with gel medium. The tissue and the left border were finger swiped with Inka Gold to accentuate the texture.I am not going to add a sentiment or other embellishment until I determine how I will use this card. Any thoughts of how to use the card? I am also using this for my UUS challenge entry. I bought the MB script stamp last year but the inchie challenges stopped before I could put it to use. It was fun to use on the small butterfly.
