This layout was my Round 5 entry in the ScrapForums “Funk It Up” contest with the assignment of “Obsession”- this is a VERY different style for me, but I think it's growing on me! :) LOL I've moved on to the final round of the competition- can't wait to see who the big winner will be!
About this layout- I've struggled with being a “perfectionist” since I was very young. My mom even bought a book on how to raise a child like me. LOL While I embrace it sometimes, at others I just wish it was easy to let go and overlook the little things. Pages like this really make me step outside my comfort zone and I'm so happy to have had the opportunity to create this through the contest. Thank you so much for looking! Good luck to everyone still in it!!
Journaling:It’s always been inside me, the need, the desire, the obsession for perfection. SlowlyI’m learning to see the beauty in imperfection, to appreciate the value in doing the unexpected, breaking the rules, taking the bumps along the road in stride and making life more about the process and less about the product. While the benefits of being a perfectionist might be obvious- meticulous attention to details, neat handwriting, dependability, success in education, it does have its downfalls. Letting go of the little things is next to impossible, redoing projectsover and over is commonplace, and my creativity is stifled by a lack of experimentation. The most important thing is just remembing to relax, relax, relax.
Credits: Flowers, paper and ribbon from the April Free Pea Kit by Rhonna Farrer at 2peas in a Bucket; Stitching and staples from Emma's Sundress by Michelle Coleman at ScrapArtist; Word art from the Lime Tea Kit and Schmootzy alphas 2 by Nancie Rowe-Janitz at ScrapArtist; Brush by Katie Pertiet at Designer Digitals; Background word paper from the Fun Loving kit by Michelle Underwood at Scrapbook-Bytes.
