This layout was based on something current that's part of my son's daily life - LEGOS! Last year a Lego store opened in our mall and he's been obsessed with it since. He collects sets, joined the monthly club, watches the movies and plays the video games. Everything Lego is loved.To tell the story, I took detail shots of the things he received at Lego Club this month. I based the layout on this world map patterned paper by Jillibean soup. To reinforce the theme of daily life and time, I also added clocks to the map background. Keeping with the Lego topic, I used circles to mimic the shape of building. A few large wooden brads from Jillibean add movement to the layout. I highlighted them by framing them with handstitched circles.I love documenting daily life - hobbies, interests and clubs. The way we spend our time and things we love doing are such an important part of the story!
