This month's photograph theme had me sifting through my photo files looking for the perfect shot. What struck me though was that over the past 7 years I've literally watched my son, niece and nephew grow up through a camera lens. There are thousands of pictures - from their first steps to kindergarten, I've got it all recorded on film. I chose similar photos from my niece's third and sixth birthdays to underline the passage of time. The b+w photo of me in the upper corner ties in with the title of the page. Sometimes I wonder if the kids will remember me looking just like that. I wanted to combine the soft watercolor palette with a nice, strong contrast. The only thing is, I'm really not drawn to washed out colors. The gray wood patterned paper brings out the pink and aqua colors of the film frames. The two fabric frames add a nice soft touch to the two focal photos. Layers of frames, photo transparencies and an ombre title tie the layout together. Thanks so much for looking!
