I Love patterned paper. Love it. I Love combining different styles and patterns. Love using little snippets of patterned paper. Love the amazing variety out there! Here are 5 ways to use patterned paper:1. As a BorderI cut a few small squares from a pile of left-overs on my desk. Inked the edges and adhered them along the bottom of the tag, creating a border. Of course, this could also be done on a card or scrapbook page.2. Stamping on Patterned PaperI used black ink and Fontwerks Flower stamps to stamp on several sheets of patterned paper. When the ink was dry, I cut out the flowers and adhered them to my card.3. Adhered Behind Clear EmbellishmentsI used Diamond glaze all over the back of my embellishments (Heidi Swapp hearts and 7 Gypsies buttons), gluing them to the patterned paper. When it was completely dry, I carefully cut around the hearts and buttons, then added them to my page.4. Patterned Paper as a Paper PiecingI made an easy paper pieced flower out of patterned paper for this card. I cut out the petals and created the center with my circle punch. Easy.5. As a Color Blocked BackgroundI used several patterned papers for my background. I tried to keep the colors in the same color family, so the background wouldn't be too distracting. I did, however, add a small punch of hot pink as an accent along the left side. I built this up on an ugly piece of neon yellow cardstock-I prefer the sturdiness of cardstock as a base for my pages.I hope this gave you some new ideas...go rummage through your stash and stacks of patterned paper (or pick up some new exciting stuff) and work some patterned paper magic! :)
