This is a guest design project for the 20 Days of Holiday Sharing event here at Two Peas. This Holiday Cheer Banner is a fun element to add to your mantel or any other place in the house you would like to display it! The mitten and snowflake shapes are mini chipboard coaster books by Maya Road that I took apart. I painted the backs of each shape and then covered the fronts with Bazzil cardstock. I then added Echo Park Merry Christmas papers to the cuffs on the mittens. Next, I added accordion medallions to my shapes. How to make the accordion medallions:1. Cut a 12x1 inch strip of paper (you can do 12x2 inches if your shapes are bigger - 12x1 worked best for my banner).2. Score at 1/8 inch increments down the entire 12 inch strip (you can choose a different increment if you would like your folds to be farther apart).3. Once the whole strip is scored, carefully fold the paper along the scores back and forth like an accordion.4. Glue the ends together. You will want one end to be a valley and the other to be a mountain so you can easily glue the ends together. 5. Gently force the paper to fan out by carefully pushing down in the middle, while gathering the folds together. Then add adhesive or glue to a small scrap of paper and place over the back center point of the accordion (I used Aleene's Tacky Glue to make sure it was very secure).6. Now you can add a cardstock or patterned paper circle to the front if you choose to. Once the medallions were secured on the shapes, I added American Crafts Thickers (Tinsel Foil Letter Stickers in Cherry and Cinnamon Foil Letter Stickers in Silver) to spell out Holiday Cheer. Depending on how many shapes you have or make, you can customize the banner to say whatever holiday sentiment you choose!Next I punched small holes in the shapes and strung them on heavy floss.
