This LO is inspired by DW2006, April 4th - use only a small splash of colour on a B&W LO. I also used Chatterbox paper, brads and a hand-cut title for the 3 products challenge Week 2. I received this photo of my grandparents from my cousin, and on the back simply says “getting ready for a wedding”. There are no other details. When I saw it, I felt it symbolized the mystery I feel around my grandparent's lives. My grandfather died long before I was born, and my grandmother lived in another city when I was small and died before I had a chance to know her. Journaling reads: On the back of this photo is written simply: “Getting ready for a wedding”. That’s all. There is no date. No mention of whose wedding you are preparing for, or how close you were to the bride and groom. When was this photo taken? Was it taken in your home? Who is behind the camera? Did the family own the camera? On the right side of the photo is a branch from a Christmas tree. How close to Christmas was this photo taken? Were you all together for Christmas? How prosperous was farming that year? Was the winter a cold one? Did Grandma make all of the family’s clothing? Did you make Grandpa’s suit for this wedding? I wonder so many things. As you caringly button Grandpa’s vest, I see your tenderness, your gentleness. Your hands that tended to so many children’s needs. While caring for the animals and helping with the crops too. What was it like to talk with you about your life? What stories do you have to tell? Can you see a family resemblance in me? In my children? What was it like to know you? Things I wish I knew. Supplies: BG pp, Chatterbox pp (journaling and captions), Pressed Petals chipboard title, Bazzill cs and Fontwerks Cezanne stamps hand-cut for title, MM brads, Prima flower, EK photo corners, ribbons from M's. TFL!
