This is a scraplift from a layout in "THe me book".Listen to your mom. You may think that I don’t know anything, but I have been around for a while. Mark Twain said it perfectly: “When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much he had learned."
Your first love: You will get your heart broken. You will feel like it’s the end of your world, and that no one will ever replace him. But believe me; it will get better and you will love again. Find out what makes you happy, and never let it go.
Do well in school. Believe me. You may not like it, but you need it as an adult.
Treasure your friends. And NEVER put a boy before them.
Do not be afraid to experience life. Sometimes your choices will be wrong, but pick yourself up and learn from them. All those little failures and accomplishments will make you who you are as an adult.
Love as much as you can. And do it with all your heart.
Do not settle down until your 30’s. Travel, go to school, and meet Mr. Wrongs. All of these things will help you learn what you really want. Plus, it’s fun!
Do not be afraid to try new things. They usually turn out good.
Do not obsess about your looks. Learn to love who you are. And never let anyone tell you otherwise.Do not forget about your parents. We love you and will always be there for whatever you need.
When you have children: Do what YOU feel is right, they are yours.
Don’t forget who you are when the children are young. Keep doing the things that interested you before you had them. Believe me. It will keep your sanity.
Do not forget about your husband. Make time for the two of you. Often.
Never give up on your dreams, no matter how silly you think they are.
Realize that time is short. I will share with you Daddy’s favorite quote; “Get busy living, or get busy dying.”
