2008 It’s one for the history books. This is the election year that will go down in history. For the first time in American history, we have a woman and a black man campaigning for the highest office in the nation, the Presidency. This is what Abraham Lincoln, John F. and Robert F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. dreamed of. From the marches of the suffragettes in the early 1900’s to the Civil Rights marches of the 60’s, many Americans have dreamed of the day when we all would be equal. Although, that day is not yet here, this is a step in the right direction. Whether the Democratic Party chooses Hillary Rodham Clinton or Barack Obama as their candidate for the presidency, precedence has been set and equality has raised its head. This layout is dedicated to Sue Prince Trapp, who left this world way too soon and should have been here to see the fruits of her labor with the Democratic Party and to the Rt. Reverend John Hines, former Presiding Bishop of the United States, who was also a passionate voice for civil rights in the turbulent sixties.
