I made these cards for Jan's WF14 Hangover Challenge–Diamonds Sparkle. http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/mb.asp?cmd=display&forum_id=22&thread_id=3273717. [twopeasinabucket.com] Jan, thank you for this challenge!I have used these same products to paint images in the past (http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/gallery/member/108705-djc/1407246-painting-with-diamond-glaze-and-reinkers/), [twopeasinabucket.com] but I love the unstructured backgrounds on Jan's sample cards and the cards that others have posted to this challenge. Also, the addition of stamping on the tissue paper adds a lot to the overall design. I need to develop a lighter touch. I thought I'd used too much ink on the first one, but then I got carried away on the second one even more.CARDS:4 1/4“ x 5 1/2”Card bases (not visible)–Bazzill and Stampin' UpMats–DCWV Glizty Glitter Cardstock Stack (The black in the regular stack is more of a very dark gray and is not very sparkly. That's the one I used here. The black in the Neutrals Stack is darker and has more sparkle.)Grafix Dura-Lar, The Acetate Alternative, medium weightPenny Black–Winter Glow! (poinsettia)Cornish Heritage Farms–Fishnet BackgrounderStaz-On Ink Pads–Olive Green (backgrounds and first stamping of the focal image on the first card); Black (both focal images)Judikins Diamond GlazeJudikins Prisma Ultra-Fine GlitterAdirondack Re-inkers–Card #1–Shell Pink, Mountain Rose, Lettuce; Card #2–Red Pepper, Mountain Rose, Buterscotch, MeadowThe directions for making these are on Jan's challenge blog–http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/userblogpost.asp?id=74781. [twopeasinabucket.com]CARD #1:I read the directions a couple of times and then started my cards. On that first card, I stamped the image with Olive Green StazOn; and when the piece was finished, it didn't show up well enough so I used a Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp over it with StazOn black. I forgot to add the glitter until after I had put on the tissue paper so the glitter effect is much more subtle. I actually like it that way. I wished that I had reversed the red and green colors; I wished that I had left more white areas.CARD #2:I had put down several circles of Diamond Glaze on the craft mat and added a drop of reinker to each and used them to color a poinsettia (not shown here because the color just squished beyond the lines (not in a good way) when I added the cardstock; maybe I'll cut it out later?) so I had all these puddles of colored Diamond Glaze. I used them to add color to this piece. It turned out to be way too dark. I did manage to add the glitter at the right point in the process, and it's much more sparkly than the first card.I need to make more of these just to get a feel for adding the right amount of Diamond Glaze and re-inkers.TFL.Daria
