Here are four more cards that use backgrounds I made for Jan's SOF13 Backgrounds with WOW Challenge and Cindi's Christmas All Year! Challenge, October Edition. Thank you both for the challenges.

These backgrounds are pretty much copies of one of Jan's sample background pieces; she made hers with glitter glue, and I made mine with embossing powder.

You can see Jan's tutorial and sample cards here:

CARDS:
4 1/2" x 5 7/8"
Bazzill cardstock (except as noted below)
Michael Store's Celebrate It sheer ribbon, white

To make the cards, I just trimmed the backgrounds, inked the edges with a Tombow Marker, matted them, added the bows, and mounted them onto the card base.

BACKGROUND:
Judikins Mattekote cardstock
Distress Inks--Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire, Salty Ocean, Dusty Concord
Tim Holtz Alterations Texture Fades--Snow Flurries
Versamark Ink
Embossing Powders--Stampendous Opaque Winter Wonderland, Judikins Diamond Sparkle, and Judikins Extreme Peacock

All four pieces were inked with Distress Inks using Tim Holtz's Wrinkle Free Watercolor Technique. I used four different ink pads to apply ink directly to the craft mat, spritzed with water, and laid the cardstock in the ink.

I used Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire and Salty Ocean to ink the first and last pieces; on the two center pieces I substituted Dusty Concord for the Salty Ocean.

When the ink was dry, I put the pieces through the embossing machine. I used a 5 3/4" brayer to apply Versamark to the embossed design. Then I heat embossed it with Stampendous Winter Wonderland Opaque Embossing Powder on the first two. On the next one I used Judikins Diamond Sparkle EP (loved that one!). On the last one I used Judikins Extreme Peacock. It looks white in the jar, but it seems to be a clear EP with Holographic sparkle. The colors change as you move it.

TFL.
